It’s a classic saying in Montana….”if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes.” Over the course of the past week, that’s certainly been the case. The weather has been all over the map and our fishing has followed suit. In the past 7 days we’ve had major heat and bright sun – ideal for the carp flats and some early hopper fishing. We’ve seen clouds and temps in the mid 70s well suited for the gulper fishing on Hebgen Lake. Just yesterday, we had hail, wind and rain – with it came 4 varieties of mayflies and rising fish to beat the band on the Yellowstone. This morning we woke to snow covered mountains with reports of nearly a foot falling in some locales. By Thursday….the forecast is calling for temps in the 90s. Back and forth. Never a dull moment.
