As our daytime temps have gone up, likely bringing up the water temp as well, the Yellowstone has caught fire in the past few days. Midges have been prolific and present throughout the day providing us with feeding fish from ramp to ramp. Baetis have been scattered, would bet they will get get cranking in the next week or so. Rigs have been purely dependent on the wind. When it’s been calm enough, dries have done the trick…when the wind has picked the nymphs have been equally good. My hunch is that the streamer bite is also pretty hot. Hit 70 degrees today – not only a great day to fish but just to relax in the boat and take it all in as well.
